Global Customer Committee Update

0

When the Americas Global Customer Committee (GCC) met Sept. 23-25, the group moved forward with prioritizing its Rolling Actions Items List (RAIL), heard from Aerospace leadership and discussed ways to promote Honeywell. Among speakers kicking off the event were the GCC’s newly elected Americas Chairman, Peter Zeeb, Chief of Maintenance for Caesars Entertainment Aviation Services; Tim Beatty, Vice President of Customer and Product Support for Business and General Aviation; and Adrian Paull, Vice President of Aerospace Customer & Product Support.  Jon Dodson,  newly elected Vice Chair of Communications from Duncan Aviation, also addressed the committee with a call to the GCC for communication action.  Jon asked for members to leverage personal testimonials and the strength of each member’s experience to promote the work that is being done by Honeywell and the GCC as a whole.

At the conclusion of day three, member Stephen Farrell, from Standard Aero, challenged the GCC to be an even stronger entity. Similar to Jon’s day one messaging, his call for action focused on being an advocate for GCC and Honeywell. The resulting 30-minute discussion covered the direction of the GCC, how members can better promote the GCC throughout the industry to increase awareness of the great things Honeywell is doing, and addressing the industry’s top concerns.

Specific actions are under way to increase visibility of the committee during industry functions, help get the message out to the business aviation industry of the improvements Honeywell has accomplished, and solicit feedback on these improvements through industry surveys including AIN and ProPilot.

Other highlights of the meeting were:

  • Reviewing the RAIL and closing 32 items on the list, in addition to two in the Top 25. Another Top 25 item moved to a future agenda for follow-up.
  • Prioritizing RAIL items to move into the Top 25 queue.
  • Working team sessions, which have continued to mature to a new level of productivity. The avionics break-out session provided a prime example of quality discussions fueled by Engineering and Marketing & Product Management (M&PM) engagement. Discussions around mandates and product road maps proved valuable for both GCC and Honeywell during the exchange.
  • Presented Honeywell’s support plan for the upcoming Brazil World Cup in 2014, which received very positive feedback. This session gave Honeywell more ideas to further promote its presence in Brazil prior to and during the event, with suggestions added to the current plan as opportunities to explore.

During the leadership debrief, it was unanimously agreed the meeting was highly productive. With breakout sessions evolving into the most effective segment of the meetings, GCC feedback is to increase these sessions. The popularity of the breakout sessions reflects engagement from Honeywell support functions during these face-to-face meetings and demonstrates the effectiveness of knowledgeable and diverse member attendance, which has met or exceeded levels of larger groups, solidifying our strategy of quality over quantity. This approach will continue through our ongoing drive to improve.

How does each aircraft and flight department comply with each mandate across the globe?  This month we focus on ADS-B.

Honeywell has ADS-B transponder solutions for Primus Epic and APEX cockpits, Primus II radio systems and the standalone MST 100B transponders. Since ADS-B requirements vary from region to region, Honeywell has created a mandate timeline to help identify when and what products are need to be upgraded or replaced in your Honeywell-equipped aircraft.

ADS-B upgrades are available for the Primus Epic and APEX cockpits (will link to Epic/APEX).  Primus II Radio Systems (link) and upgrades to the new MST 100 to replace the existing MST-67 & MST-81D transponders are available.

With over 389 Channel Partner/Dealers worldwide, the network acts as an extension of Honeywell, providing service and support to you, our customers, in the accomplishment of your mission.  The products supported by our Channel Partners span engines, Auxiliary Power Units (APU), airframes and avionics to interior refurbishments.  The network offers services to our customers such as engine maintenance, Aircraft On Ground (AOG) service, Mobile Teams, Technical and Parts support, Troubleshooting and Training.

Some examples of how our Partners contribute to our overall success:

Our Channel Partner Network has been an integral part of our avionics Retrofits, Modifications and Upgrades (RMU) success.  Within the network, Sales Teams are promoting Honeywell’s product to the market as we continually strive to keep your aircraft flying efficiently and safely through innovative products and services. The expertise and support of our Partners helps our customers certify, install and maintain your aircraft, adding value to our service offering and help us continually serve our customers.

The Channel Partner Network has assisted Honeywell during high customer demand related to short-lead time orders for new engines as part of an aircraft conversion program.  Members of the Network stepped up and worked with Honeywell to build up spec engines from available cores, satisfying the immediate requirement and bridging the gap in new production and meeting the customer’s delivery schedule.

Today’s market space demands a service network that is widespread, responsive and competitive. Honeywell’s Channel Partner/Dealer Network is up to the challenge of daily providing complete comprehensive services supporting our business and general aviation aircraft.

Several of our Channel Partners also participate in Honeywell’s Global Customer Committee  (GCC) and our Channel Partner Advisory Board. Honeywell listens to both advisory boards and acts on recommendations that will improve our service and support to our mutual end-customers.  Honeywell will also be launching a mobile app this October with Channel Partner locations mapped enabling easy identification for services wherever you fly in the world.

The Honeywell GCC is an independent group of aerospace professionals that works jointly with Honeywell to bring about improvement in aircraft, equipment, operations and services by seeking input from members on any concerns and issues based on the operator's experience and to represent those issues to Honeywell. The GCC's mission is to prevent problems from occurring through a free flowing exchange of information between members and Honeywell, working through a prioritized Top 25 action list that is consolidated globally.  Along the same line, Honeywell has a “Channel Partner Advisory Board” whose mission is to help Honeywell in supporting operators globally.

Honeywell engines are tops in magazine reader poll

$
0
0

AIN, a monthly trade publication, is a leading source of news and information for the business aviation industry.

Readers who participated in the magazine’s 2013 Product Support Survey gave the two Honeywell engines the highest overall average score, along with top marks in several important categories, including aircraft-on-ground (AOG) support and authorized service center performance.

In fact, the magazine points out that Honeywell was one of only two  engine manufacturers (out of eight) to score higher this year than they did last year.

HTF7000

The HTF7000 is Honeywell’s newest family of efficient turbofan engines, powering the latest generation of super-midsized business jets. Since first entering service in 2004, the HTF7000 has accumulated nearly 1.7 million hours of operation with a dispatch reliability rate of 99.9 percent. More than 840 engines have been produced.

TPE331

Designed in 1959, the TPE331 was the first Honeywell turboprop engine. The series now includes 18 engine models and 106 configurations, with more than 13,000 engines delivered to date and more than 126 million hours of flight time. The TPE331 is one of the most reliable and proven turboprop engines in the world.

Some of the factors contributing to the high survey scores include:

  • Honeywell’s global “engine/rental bank:” By investing heavily in regional stocking, Honeywell has been able to achieve better than 99-percent on-time-to-request (OTTR) on rentals and exchange orders.
  • Authorized Service Center performance: The Honeywell TPE331 received particularly notable scores in this category, significantly better than the three other competitors.
  • AOG support: The magazine’s commentary noted that Honeywell’s AOG support “continues to demonstrate improved customer service, responsiveness and overall performance.” Process improvements in this area give managers, including senior company leadership, better visual awareness of AOG status.

Another area where Honeywell got high praise was the One Honeywell Global Customer Committee (GCC).

Introduced in 2011, the GCC is a cooperative effort among Honeywell, operators of Honeywell equipment and authorized service centers who meet in person biannually in the Americas, EMEAI (Europe, Middle East, Africa, India) and Asia Pacific regions to identify and prioritize areas for improvement in Honeywell’s products and services.

“The hard work of these business partners is certainly a key to our excellent survey scores,” said Rob Buelow, Customer Support Manager at Honeywell Aerospace.
